Sergey Machin
The first Russian CCG “The War” came out thanks to his efforts in 2002. He developed, designed, drew and tested the game with his colleges. Risking it all the game was released.
Since that time “The War” has seen many sets and expansions, which show different times of the war and their theater. Tournaments are held in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
The development and production of this game and others after it through 2002 to 2010 was the company established by Sergey, «Stolitsa Design Group».
A separate game for two players was released based on “The War”, “Victory Day”.
In 2005 Sergey started developing board games for the whole family.
And his first game in this direction was “Potion-making. Practice” (Zelyevarenye) which became a Russian bestseller.
In the next years, two expansion sets were released for the game. A gift pack, containing all 3 games was also released.
The game received a few awards from Russian board game portals as “Russian board game of the year”.
Many board gamers owe their thanks to this game since it was the one that brought them to the world of hobby games.
Sergey released another card game called Commander`s Way (Puth Comandora) in 2006.
In 2007 Sergey, with the help of Danila Gorunov developed and released «The Kingdoms of Crusaders» (Ordonans) board game. The core set was meant for 2 players. An expansion for 4 people was later made.
The portal www.boardgamer.ru marked the game as “Best Russian game 2007”.
«The Enigma of Leonardo» (Zagadka Leonardo) was developed by Sergey later that year. The expansion “Novem” as well as an expert set “The Enigma of Leonardo. Quintis Fontis” were released in 2010, developed with the help of Alexei Pahomov.
A joke game called «GreathHoodoo» (Silnoe Koldunstwo) was released in 2009, Sergey got the idea from the classic Russian card game Durak (Stupid).
In 2010 Sergey and his followers established a new company to develop and release board games in Russia - RightGames LLC. Since 2011 all games developed by «Stolitsa Design Group» use the new brand.
A scientifically educational board game called «Evolution. The origin of species» was released in 2010. Its designer is Dmitry Knorre, a graduate of the biological faculty of Moscow State University.
Together with Sergey Machin they polished the game for release.
By the end of 2010 the game received 5 awards as “best Russian game of the year”.
“Evolution. Time to fly” an expansion to the original was released in spring 2011.
“The Hat” a party-parlor game edited by Sergey, was released near Christmas 2010, one of the cards in game holds his portrait.
In 2011 Sergey Machin developed a game for children and parents alike – The Jam.
By using the easy rules, even children under the age of 5 can play it. The advanced rules will be interesting even for pro gamers.
