André Schillo
André Schillo is the game and rules designer of the award winning tabletop skirmish game Godslayer, published in 2012 by Megalith Games of which he was also one of the two founders.
After leaving Megalith Games in 2015, André Schillo focussed on several board game projects with his own board game company Voodoo Games (II).
In the past André Schillo used to play roleplaying games starting back in 1992 at the age of 12. Common games were the german game "Das Schwarze Auge" and later on also Shadowrun. Little later HeroQuest and Claymore Saga became a lot more important and so there were regular game session. Motivated by HeroQuest and its miniatures he was also introduced to tabletop wargames like Warhammer Fantasy back in 1996. This would become the basis for all future wargame interests and finally resulted in creating his own tabletop wargame Godslayer.
With more and more wargames to play like Warmachine/Hordes, Warhammer 40K, Infinity, and others, board games were out of focus for quite some time. Only after reviving a regular dungeon crawler session with "Descent: Journeys in the Dark" board games became more and more interesting again and today there are regular gaming sessions involving all kind of board games including lots of test playing for Voodoo Games.
André Schillo is taking his inspiration for game design by all kinds of influences such as other games of course, but also movies, video games, graphic novels, books and comics. Rules design always focuses on new ideas and streamlined, yet still complex behavior with intuitive visual designs. He always has a high expectation on game components and especially artwork, so the overall quality of the products have to fit high demands.
So far he build up lots of contacts throughout the gaming business and has a great pool of artists, sculptors, designers, test players, reviewers, publishers and others at hand.
André Schillo is always open to new ideas and projects and other designers, publishers or artists may always contact him if there´s need for an experienced game designer.
